I wish i could go back in time
not to see a dinosaur
or talk to a king
not to ride on the very first trains
or observe life before electricity
not to meet a famous dead person
or see myself in the early days
i wish i could go back in time
to watch an artist paint a picture
like the ones in museums
with such great detail
that you have to touch it to make sure
it’s only a picutre
but it takes you places
places you’ve never been
i want to ask so many questions
like how they were inspired
its deeper meaning
to understand the colors
and shapes
now, if only i could go back in time
